Wild Sage & Co Shampoo Bar - Rosemary & Lavender

This vegan shampoo bar contains lots of lovely cold pressed UK Rapeseed oil and Organic Apple Cider Vinegar along with Wild Sage + Co's home grown Rosemary, infused with Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

All of Wild Sage + Co's  soaps are made with 100% natural, Vegan ingredients and lovingly crafted at their cottage in the Herefordshire countryside. They use the cold process method when making all their soaps and also a process called super-fatting. Doing this allows them to keep the free oils and the naturally occurring glycerin. This is what makes them so exceptionally moisturising.

    How To Use

To use the vegan shampoo bar just wet your hair thoroughly and rub the bar over your head until you feel enough has been left on your hair to create a lather.

Wash as normal and you can then use your usual conditioner if you wish or you may find over time you will not need it as your hair is not stripped of its natural healthy oils.

If you live in a hard water area you may need to rinse or spray hair with a vinegar rinse of 1 tablespoon ACV (apple cider vinegar) per cup of warm water and rinse out.

Please Note: There is usually an adjustment period of about 1 month on chemically treated hair when using natural products.

    Hints + Tips

Having greasy hair may be a fall out from using a commercial shampoo. Commercial detergent shampoo will have stripped your hair of its natural oils, your scalp would then have produced more oil to compensate for this.

Therefore it may take a week or more for your scalp to rebalance its oil production, during this period you hair may feel greasy or heavy.

There is also the problem of product build up from commercial shampoo's and conditioners which often contain waxes, synthetic silicones, and silica that coat your hair, to make it "feel" nice, but leave a residue in your hair. You can help remove this build up by rinsing you hair with 2 tablespoons of baking soda dissolved in a cup of warm water.

Also the water you are washing your hair with may be causing problems. Have you tried using and apple cider vinegar rinse after washing, 1 tablespoon ACV (apple cider vinegar) per cup of warm water and rinse out.

Another trick if you live in a hard water area is to add a pinch of baking soda to a pint of warm water. Use this solution to wet hair before shampooing. It can help the shampoo bar lather better and thus rinse out more thoroughly. Please always make sure you have rinsed your hair thoroughly after shampooing.

    Soap Care

Since the hand crafted soap has no chemical preservatives, it deserves a little bit of attention to keep it happy and prolong its life. All of the soaps have a high percentage of natural glycerine which is great for your skin as its incredibly moisturising but it also attracts water so its really important to keep it somewhere dry.

When you are not using it its best to keep it out of water on a well drained surface so that it completely dries between uses. Use a soap dish (wooden or bamboo dishes with open slats are perfect) or a travel tin with drainage. This will help make it last so you can get the most from your soap and enjoy feeling naturally fresh and fragrant for as long as possible!

Full usage guide and hints & tips comes with the soap purchase.

Other important information. As with any skin care product, if irritation develops discontinue use, and, as with any soap, avoid contact with eyes.

I have been using this soap for a while now. It smells lovely and no plastic waste or nasty chemicals. Husband has been suffering with an itchy scalp and has found this shampoo bar does the trick. Prompt delivery too.

I'm just about to order my second bar. It takes a few attempts to get the hang of making enough lather to get a good wash and making so much lather it goes mad! But once I sust that it was great. My daughter uses it too and hasn't had an itchy scalp since we got the first bar.

Being relative new to the world of plastic free living I was somewhat apprehensive with this product but I’m glad to say I’m well and truly impressed with it.It has won me over and I’ll be ordering more of it.

Been using this product for a few months now and happy with. Live in a hard water area and use apple cider vinegar rinse after use of shampoo bar which results in a better feel to hair. No irritation at all. Hair looks fine (greys aside!)

Just switched to using a shampoo bar so has taken about a week for my hair to get used to this, but well worth the effort. No more plastic bottles or chemical shampoos, just naturally clean, soft hair. Hopefully the bar will last a while, but will be ordering another when it is used up.

Great eco credentials, but didn't actually clean my hair. I wasn't able to go the distance to put up with sticky flat greasy hair for more than 3 weeks to find out if I could ever get through the transition phase, so cannot vouch for whether it would have eventually worked. It may work OK on people without chemically treated (dyed) hair.
