Niamh and Joe started Bambooth with a strong desire to create earth-friendly alternatives to regular plastic toothbrushes without having to sacrifice on performance and style.

Thankfully, thanks to some clever initial woodworking skills and the determination to make a difference, they soon created Bambooth bamboo toothbrushes which not only work brilliantly (and are approved by the Oral Health Foundation) but which have the smallest amount of plastic in them - there are currently no satisfactory vegan natural alternatives to nylon bristles but the bristles can easily be removed with pliers so that the handle can be composted. While it's not a perfect solution, an eco toothbrush is a huge benefit over standard toothbrushes.

Using a bamboo brush from Bambooth also means you are supporting environmental charities as Bambooth donate to four different charities, based on which eco friendly toothbrush you choose:

They have picked 4 wonderful charities which represent 4 different ecosystems- coral, marine, ocean and forest.

The Coral Pink brush contributes to the Coral Reef Alliance, an international charity who’s mission is to save the world’s coral reefs.

The Sea Blue brush contributes to Plastic Oceans UK whose mission is to stop plastic reaching the oceans within a generation.

The Aqua Marine brush contributes to the Marine Conservation Society which is the UK’s leading marine charity. It works to ensure the seas are healthy, pollution-free and protected.

The Forest Green brush contributes to the Jane Goodall Institute which is a global organisation empowering people to make a difference for all living things
